Visitors Brighten Our Life!

We had visitors!
Grandma & Grandpa P were here for a week in early May, and we had a blast.
We went to the beach, took gator rides, and pretty much had a lot of fun.
We also had an engagement reception at our house for our neighbor and
her fiancé who lived in Les Cayes.

We all rushed down to the guesthouse when
grandma and grandpa arrived from Port-au-Prince.

We took a gator ride to a town called Plaisance.

Mom sings with a group of Haitian ladies and
grandma joined her for practice.

Grandpa liked to meet Haitians and tried out his
French on them.

This happy tap-tap drove by on the way up the
mountain from Cayes.

This is a picture of the Cavaillon River. Cavaillon
is a town at the bottom of our mountain that
you pass through on the way to Cayes.

Grandma got a picture with Gaylens, one of our
Haitian friends.

Us walking to Haitian church on Sunday morning.

Hadley gave Gaylens a baseball cap
a few weeks ago and now he wears
 it everywhere.

We borrowed an ice cream maker and
have been enjoying some homemade
ice cream.

Our school mascot it the gecko (a small lizard) and
all of the missionaries got Bonne Fin Gecko shirts.

With grandma and grandpa, we visited a Haitian
bread bakery. This machine rolls out the dough.

Grandma and Grandpa and Brenna
before heading off to Les Cayes.

We had fun at the beach on the last
day that grandma and grandpa were
 here.

We ate supper on our porch a lot of evenings
with grandma and grandpa.

On a gator ride.

We went to the Cayes market with grandma and
grandpa. It looks and smells disgusting, but you
can buy anything from bananas, to pig heads,
to church clothes.

Grandpa worked on our fence to
our yard with another one of our
Haitians friends.
