Work Team Week

We were very blessed by a group from our home church that went to Haiti to work on our house.  I (Joan) went along with them, and Kurt stayed home to work and take care of the kids (my mom also helped a lot with the kids!  "thanks Mom").  Our week in Haiti was very busy, and everyone worked so hard.  It was very humbling to have so many dear friends and family sacrifice time and effort on our behalf!  Thanks to everyone for all you did (have you ever sweated so much in all your life :))
The transformations to our house were amazing!

This is the team at the end of the week (the survivors:)).  I thought I would put it at the beginning, so you could see everyone that went along.

Time to get to work!  Shel spent a lot of time filling cracks and holes with putty.

Boys' room after.  Stripes are compliments of Shel, Amb and a chalk line!  Great job!

A much needed break on Thursday night was enjoyed at the home of Rick and Komari.  We enjoyed a delicious meal and wonderful fellowship.

Pat and her Haitian helpers!

Kris (and the talented carpentry team of Jon and Cam) built us a beautiful bathroom cabinet, kitchen pantry and hall cabinet!  Quality built and wonderful storage!

This shows our kitchen pantry.  This space will come in very handy when the sea container arrives with many of our supplies!

We know that many of you are praying for us in this big transition in our lives, and we want you to know we feel very strengthened by that.  Lord willing, we will be flying to Haiti on November 5 to begin the next stage of our lives!
